BRONG AHAFO CIVIL SERVANTS ASSOCIATION (CSA) MEETS STAFF OF THE TANO SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Brong Ahafo Branch of the Civil Servants Association has paid a working visit to the Tano South District to interact with Civil Servants in the district on the proposed draft constitution for the establishment of a Regional Savings and Loans Scheme.

Speaking at the function the District Chief Executive of Tano South District Chief Executive of Tano South District Honorable Bukari Zakari Anaba commended the association for making the welfare of its members paramount. He said the Atta Mills Administration would do all it can to raise the standard of living of all workers in Ghana and thereby urged Civil Servants to do away with such negative altitudes towards work such as lateness, pilfering, corruption, nepotism and favoritism which he said draws back government policies and programmes. He further assured workers that come January 2009 the Single Spine Salary Structure would be implemented.

Messrs Asante Asubonteng and G Y Dodse the Regional Secretary and Chairman respectively of the Civil Servants Association took turns to explain into details the objective of the Savings & Loans Scheme. They said it would promote and afford members the opportunity of accumulating their savings for future benefit, create a source of funding from which soft loans can be granted exclusively to members at fair and reasonable rates of interest and to provide quality consumer items for sale to members on hire purchase terms.

They also revealed that loans have been made available for payment of school fees wards of members and therefore urged all parents to apply.

Some members asked questions about promotion, what dues paid to the association is used for and why membership into the Civil Servants Association is not optional but compulsory.
