ASHH FUN CLUB INUAGURATED AT BECHEM IN THE TANO SOUTH DISTRICT

Bechem in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region was thrown into a joyous state when a branch of the Ashh FM Fun Club was inaugurated in the town.

The formation of Ashh Fun Club, a developmental oriented and unity based association made up of both old and young from Bechem and it’s environs was the brain child of one Mr. Israel Dakey and Christian who are regular listeners of Ashh FM a Kumasi

The formation of the club which according to its executives was not for fun only but to get a united front for development and progress has one of its motives for the skilled members to help train the unskilled ones in various fields such as plumbing, hairdressing, dressmaking and many more in order for them to earn a decent living.

The club according to its executives would also contribute money to form a Credit Union which would give financial support to needy members in their wards education and in times of financial difficulties.

The Chairman for the occasion Mr. Kirk Kudozia in his opening remark said the emergence or the formation of clubs and societies in effect brings about development and progress and advised the members of the club that their membership to the club should not be of fun and enjoyment only but should be development focused.

In a short but impressive speech the General Manager of Ashh FM, the Kumasi based FM station Mr. Amoako Kesseh was of praises to the Bechem Branch of the club and advised that the club should not be for fun only but must be seen as functional and lauded the clubs idea of forming a Credit Union within it’s membership which would seek to meet the financial needs of it’s members.

Mr. Amoako in an appeal to the Omanhene of Bechem who was represented by his Ankobeahene Nana Otamakuro Aduboffour, called for the release of land to the club for a demonstration farm by the club. He said the opportunities are there so the club should utilize it. Mr. Amoako in concluding his speech warned members of the club that the club must not be seen as partisan since the formation of such clubs are not for politics.

Inaugurating the club, the Tano South District Chief Executive Honourable Bukari Zakari Anaba congratulated the organizers and members of the club for the good step taken to bring the people of Bechem and its environs together to promote social cohesion, unity and development.

Hon. Zakari said development as we all know cannot be achieved in a chaotic society and retaliated that as a people of this country in general and the Tano South District in particular, the time has come that we realize that our development is entrusted in our own hands. Unity, the District Chief Executive said is strength and said a better choice of theme could not have been taken than what they had chosen.

Hon. Zakari said it is regrettable that conflicts are emerging in some part the country due to tribal, chieftaincy and religious misunderstandings leading to loss of lives and property the end result is that state funds are wasted on such acts in the name of enforcing law and order.

He advised the youth and fun clubs not to allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous politicians and chiefs to foment troubles for the society but know that unity is the bedrock for development.

The District Chief Executive retaliated the Governments commitment and determination to expand infrastructural development in all sectors of the economy such as health, Education, Agriculture, Roads water and sanitation and said all these huge investment by government would be meaningless unless there is unity which will bring development in the lives of the people.

The District Chief Executive in conclusion commended the entire people of the Tano South District for the peace and unity prevailing in the District and appealed to Nananom, politicians, Religious bodies and opinion leaders that the motto of the Assembly “unity excellence and development “ must not be taken for granted but a reality among the people of the District and must be jealously protected not to allow anything to derail the unity we cherish very much to ensure total development for all.

Honorable Bukari Zakari Anaba in inaugurating the Bechem Branch of Ashh Fun club on behalf of the Tano South District Assembly donated an amount of One Hundred Ghana Cedis to the Club.

The Inaugural ceremony was attended by the National Executives of the Ashh Fun Club including it’s Patron Nana Prempeh, Mr. Bismark Kyeremateng and Daasebre Agyei Dwamena Chairman and Coordinator respectively and Sister Fun Clubs from the Ashanti Region and other clubs from Bechem.
