WORK ON ICT TRAINING CENTRE AT TECHIMANTIA BEGINS






































The state of the project at Techimantia as at 23rd December, 2010. The contractor Mr. E.K. Asante promise to finish before the schedule time.


Work on the construction of a GH¢36,500 Information Communication and Technology Training Centre (ICT) building at Techimantia in the Tano South District has begun.

The centre a brain child of a UNDP, Ministry of Communication and MTN collaboration, when completed would help train the youth of Techimantia and its environs in ICT programmes.

According to the contractor working on the project, Mr. E K Asante of PHIL-TECK Company Ltd work on the project is scheduled to be completed in two (2) months time.

He said that the needed funds for mobilization had been made available for the start of work and prayed the remaining funds would be released on time for them to meet the scheduled time for the completion of work on the project.

The Chief of Techimantia Nana Oti Ampen who released the land for the project commended MTN, UNDP and the Ministry of Communication for siting the centre at Techimantia and promised his Traditional council’s readiness to help the contractor to complete the project on time.

Nana called on the youth of Techimantia to reciprocate this kind gesture of having had the opportunity to have the centre sited in their area to enroll in their numbers at the centre when the work on the project is completed and classes begin so that they would also be abreast with current trends in Information Communication and Technology.
