DCE INTERACTS WITH DIPLOMA STUDENTS OF ST. JOSEPH’S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, B

The Tano South District Chief Executive Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba has called on the Diploma students of the St. Joseph’s College of Education to remain focus and study harder as the Atta Mill’s Administration will make them the centre of attention in the effort to improve on the performance of the education sector.


Making the call the Hon District Chief Executive said the president in his state of the Nations address said the newly enacted Education Act 2008 Act 778 sets out the new outlook of the education system. He stated that the Act introduces some new components such as National Inspectorate Board, National Teaching Council and the National Council for Curriculum Assessment.

He revealed that government would endeavour to implement the new structures proposed in the Act to ensure quality in the teaching and learning process and further revealed that come January 2010 the Single Spine Salary Structure would be implemented.

He said the Tano South District in its quest to improve the quality of education in the district is constructing a school block at the St Joseph’s College of Education to help teacher trainees in their practice.

Some students asked questions such as how the living and working conditions of teachers would be improved and also sponsorship package for teachers in the district to further their education.
