TANO SOUTH CONSTITUENCY NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY HOLDS DELEGATES CONFERENCE AT BECHEM



The first Constituency Delegate’s Conference of the Tano South Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been held at Bechem, the Tano South District Capital.
The delegates’ conference which was attended by polling station executives, Council of elders/ Patrons, Constituency Executives, E/A Co-ordinators, a representative of the Regional Executives of the party saw in attendance the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for the Constituency and the Tano South District Chief Executive was aimed at reviewing the Party’s activities and the 2016 general election before, during and after
In a welcome address, the constituency chairman of the party, Mr Opoku Buabeng gave thanks to the Almighty God for bringing the party to victory in the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections and urged the party supporters and executives to work hard to make the party achieve its set goals as promised during the electioneering campaign so as to make the party remains in power in the next elections.
Mr Opoku Buabeng called of the party’s communicators to give accurate information to the public on the party’s ideology so as to make the people understand what the party is set for and what it is doing to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.
The Tano South District Chief Executive, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi in a speech thanked the President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo – Addo for nominating him to hold the office of the District Chief Executive for the Tano South and called on the constituency executives of the party to give him the necessary collaboration to run the affairs of the district so as to improve the living standards of the people.
Hon. Offinam told the delegates that they should lead lives worthy of emulation so that their people would have trust in them and vote for those who would want to contest in future district level elections.
He said since the party believes in the rule of law and democracy it is imperative that those of them who would want to stand for executive positions in the party would have to follow the due process and hinted that with the release of the one million dollar fund for each constituency by the government it would go a long way to help the constituency in terms of developmental projects and hoped that   the Bechem –Dwomo- Techimantia road network would not be an exception.
The Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere told the delegates that since a party is a union and the New Patriotic Party is no exception, there may be some misunderstanding between members or executives but that should not cause disunity but find an appropriate way of settling the issue. Hon Sekyere told the delegates that the government is putting in place measures to get the teeming youth who are unemployed to get jobs to improve their living conditions and hinted that government is committed to extend electricity supply to the rural areas.
On the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme, Hon Sekyere indicated that interventions have been put in place by government to supply seeds and seedlings free of charge to the farmers and also to distribute fertilisers at subsidized prices to all districts for purchase.
Hon. Sekyere on his part said he has purchased one thousand, five hundred (1500) bags of fertilisers for distribution to needy farmers in the constituency free of charge to supplement their efforts in acquiring some of the fertilisers.
