D C E IMPRESSED WITH PROGRESS OF WORK ON I C T TRAINING CENTRE AT TECHIMANTIA

The Tano South District Chief Executive, Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba has expressed great satisfaction with the progress of work on the I C T Training centre at Techimantia in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region. The D C E made this remark when he paid a familiarization visit to the project site to acquaint himself with the progress of work currently ongoing at Techimantia. He paid glowing tribute to UNDP/MTN who are the main sponsors of the project and called on the general public to patronize the centre when operation commence.

The centre has so far been equipped with the required furniture by the U N D P and is yet to be supplied with computers and its accessories. Meanwhile the U N D P is scheduled to organize a training of trainers’ workshop for thirty selected teachers drawn from various schools within the Techimantia Township to also train I C T teachers who would be teaching at the centre later in the month of April, 2011

A source at the centre indicate that, finishing touches is been put in place and the contractor would soon hand over the project, though a bore hole is yet to be drilled at the site to supply water.

The centre which would soon be opened would give I C T training to Students, pupils as well as the general public within the Techimantia township and it’s environs to be abreast with the technological world.
