TANO SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO SIXTY BENEFICIARIES

The Tano South District Assembly as part of its social responsibilities to enhance quality education in the district has awarded scholarship to sixty brilliant but needy students drawn from all parts of the district in a drive to enable them go through their education.

Speaking at a short but impressive awards ceremony at the Conference Hall of the District Assembly, the Tano South District Chief Executive Honorable Bukari Zakari Anaba said the sponsorship of the 60 students who gained admission into various institutions in the country is under the District Assemblies Common Fund Sponsorship Scheme.

The District Chief Executive hinted that the Tano South District Assembly has so far spent a total amount of GH¢10,100 out of a total of GH¢19,651.26 to be spent on the sponsorship package and said the said amount would cover their entire Boarding and Tuition fees in their various institutions which he said included Nursing Training, University Education, Senior High School and Training Colleges of Education. The DCE therefore pleaded with the beneficiaries to

endeavour to return and serve in the Tano South district on completion to enhance growth in the

district.

The Presiding Member of the Tano South District Assembly Hon Prince Henry Boadi in a short speech drew the attention of the beneficiaries to the fact that out of the large number of student who applied for sponsorship from the assembly they have been privileged to receive the sponsorship and entreated them to make good use of the sponsorship by learning well and also portray good behaviour and morals to become useful citizens to the district and the nation as a whole.


Miss Sarah Serwaa a Community Health student of the Tanoso Community Health Training Institute on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the Tano South District Assembly for the kind gesture and promised that they would come back to serve the district on completion of their various courses.
