Hundreds of Muslims in Bechem,
the Tano South District Capital and its environs thronged the Bechem Islamic
Primary School park to say prayers for their leadership and to slaughter a ram
to mark the celebration of Eid -UI- Adha which symbolize a day of sacrifice.

The chief Imam of Bechem, Alhaji
Ibrahim Gariba who led an open air prayer session called for peace in the
country since without peace, a Nation cannot develop and prayed that all
political parties, their leaders and followers would ensure that peace prevails
before, during and after the 2016 elections.
Alhaji Gariba called on all to
tolerate each other views as we are one people and cannot be separated by
political views for we are all our
“brother’s keeper”.
The District Police Commander,
Supt Emmanuel Baah in a speech entreated the Muslims to do all they can to
assist the Police to combat crime in the District and applied to them to report
all suspicious characters within their vicinities for investigations to be
conducted on those people.

The Supt. Baah again called on the Muslim youth not to
allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause confusion during this
election period since the police would not sit idle to see them engage in
trouble making as the law would take its due course.

Executive, Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba who joined his Muslim counterpart to
celebrate Eid- Ul Adha conveyed a special anniversary greetings from His
Excellency John D. Mahama and urged all the Muslim youth not to allow
themselves to be used during this election campaign period and also be law
abiding citizens so that they can play positive roles in the socio- economic
development of the country. He said that all Ghanaians needed is peace so as to
build a healthy nation, and it behoves on each and every one to contribute his
quota towards that noble course.
