A
massive clean- up exercise led by the Tano South District Chief Executive, Hon.
Bukari Zakari Anaba took place over the weekend at the District capital- Bechem
as part of the National Sanitation exercise.
The
clean-up exercise attracted a large number of people who participated in
distilling choked gutters, weeding and sweeping of the environment.
The
well patronised exercise attracted all heads of government department and Agencies
who exhibited leadership skills by organizing all their workers to partake in
the activities and also afforded opportunities for some heads of departments to
brief participants on the mode of their work after the clean-up exercise.
In
one of such briefings, Mr. Takyi Agyemang, the Tano South District Manager of
the National Health Insurance Secretariat briefed the people on the
introduction of the National Health Insurance Capitation. He said by capitation
it implies that the government has mandated all citizens to select any health
facility of their preferred choice in order to seek medical attention when ill.
He
said his outfit has started the National Health Insurance Capitation
registration in the district and urged all to take advantage of it, by visiting
their office for registration and also advised them to choose health facilities
which are near their residential areas to enable them visit the facility
regularly to seek health care delivery.
Mr.
Agyemang hinted that his outfit would issue temporal identification cards to
registered capitation insurers to ensure easy access to health care anytime
they fall sick.
In
a speech by the Tano South District Chief Executive, Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba,
thanked all participants and said the exercise has helped tremendously to
beautify the environment and has also helped to reduce cases of malaria and
other air- borne diseases. Hon. Anaba also called on the women leaders of the
Bechem Market Women Association to encourage their members to turn up in their
numbers to take part in sanitation exercise anytime the day falls before going
to market to do business.
Hon.
Anaba further used the occasion to call on all and sundry to preach peace
before, during and after the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
