The Tano South municipal Assembly has signed
contract documents with three (3) companies and cut-sod to make contractors to
commence water project at Brosankro in the Tano South Municipality.

A durbar which held at Brosankro before the
sod-cutting ceremony saw dignitaries like Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the MCE
for Tano South, Hon. Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa, the MCE for Nkoranza South, Hon.
Adane Ankomah, the DCE for Jaman North, Hon. Stephen Jalulah, the DCE for Pru
West, Alhaji Ahmed Ewura (Engineer), the Brong Ahafo Regional Director of
Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Mr. Winfred Akakpo, the Managing
Director of Construction Dynamics Limited, Mr. Abokyi K. Daniel from Lestako
Ventures Limited, Mr. Mawuli Bobobee, Mr. Dogoli James, the Hydrogeologiest and
Nana Kusi Appiah.
In a welcome address, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi,
the MCE for Tano South thanked all participants for making it possible to
attend the programme and expressed the felicities of His Excellency Nana Addo
Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Evans Opoku
Bobie, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Designate and Hon. Benjamin Yeboah
Sekyere, the MP for Tano South Constituency to all present and said Brosankro
water project was initiated under the leadership of Ex- President John Dramani Mahama but due to the financial constraint, the project
could not be completed. Hon. Takyi said government is continuity and it is
against this background that His
Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of
Ghana and Commander in-chief of the Armed Forces and his government have secured
money from the World Bank to complete Brosankro water project to make residents
of Brosankro acquire portable water to drink and also use for other households’
activities.

Hon. Takyi emphasized that Brosankro water project
is under the Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project and hinted that the
project will be completed in eight (8) months by the contractor and urged
residents of Brosankro to give necessary support to the contractor to make him
complete the project on time. He reiterated that government will collaborate
with the Tano South Municipal Assembly to implement good policies and
programmes to help improve the living standards of the people and called all
and sundry to support the government.
Hon. Takyi said proposals to create Ahafo Region
were presented to President of the Republic of Ghana by the Council of Chiefs of
Ahafo and explained that the proposals have been considered by His Excellency
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana but said a
referendum is expected to be conducted by the electoral commissioner in
December, 2018 and urged all legible voters to vote YES when the referendum
exercise begins and used the occasion to catalogue some of the achievements of
government.
In a short but impressive address, Alhaji Ahmed
Ewura (Engineer), the Brong Ahafo Regional Director of Community Water and
Sanitation Agency said Assemblies have signed contract with three companies to
execute water project in the Tano South Municipality, Nkoranza South
Municipality, Pru West District and Jaman North District and hinted that all
those who need water at their abodes should register with the contractors. He
said the procurement processes have been completed by the three (3) companies
mandated to execute water projects in Tano South Municipality including the
three Assemblies and used the occasion to explain the civil works and
electro-mechanics works and urged stakeholders to support the contractors when
the project begins.

Nana Kusi Appiah, the Akwamuhene of Brosankro who
chaired the programme thanked Hon. Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, the MP for Tano
South Constituency and Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the MCE for Tano South for
their leading role played to make government to complete Brosankro water
project and promised to collaborate with other residents of the community to
maintain the water project as the need arises.
