TANO SOUTH DISTRICT PRIMARY SCHOOLS OBSERVE “MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL”

Teachers in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region have been asked to take good care of their pupils and teach them what is good. They have again been tasked to adopt measures that would give more knowledge to the pupils and instill discipline in them.


This message was contained in different speeches Miss Mary Gyimah the Tano South District Director of Education gave when she visited some schools in her district mark ’’my first day at school’’ which symbolizes the beginning of schools academic year.

Miss Gyimah who was accompanied by officials of her office and that of the Tano South District Assembly visited one of the four educational zones whilst circuits supervisors of the three remaining zones and other officers took charge of the other zones.

The visits to the schools saw pupils who had entered KG 1 and primary one for the first time receiving biscuits, toffees and cups to symbolize as a token for them from the president to mark their first day at school. In all about five thousand and over pupils entering KG 1 and primary one for the first time were met in the District.

Miss Gyimah advised the pupils to always remember their first day at school and continue schooling for a bright and successful future as education is the key to success and promised that the education directorate would do all it can in its capacity to make available all inputs that would bring about effective teaching and learning. She thanked the government of Ghana and the Tano South District Assembly for doing all it can to eradicate schools under trees in the District.
