Sod cutting ceremonies has been held at various communities
in the Tano South District of the Brong-
Ahafo Region for the commencement of development project in the District.
The projects which comprises of school buildings, chips
compounds and a slauther slab is the initiative of the Member of Parliament of
the Tano South Constituency through her share of MPs common fund.
The school building projects which would be at Techimantia
Presby Senior High School, Subriso and Ada are made up of two storey building multi
purpose administration block, a 1No 3 unit classroom block with office and
ancillary facilities at Subriso and Ada respectively whilst two 1No community
health based services compound ( CHIP) each would be sited at Asuboi
and Breme with the slauther slab being sited at Techimantia.
At various durbars held in honour of the MP at the various
towns, the Tano South District Executive
Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba told the various gatherings in his introductory
remarks that the MP in her visits to the towns to account for her stewardship
during the period of her two years in office as MP was confronted with various
problems facing the people by the various communities and it was prudent for
the MP to also contribute her quota to support the assemblies efforts in
bringing development projcets to the people.
The District Chief Executive said the MP has initiated a
number of development projects in various communities and saw the need to also bring development to
others also. He said work on all the
projects has been awarded on contract and called on the people to rally behind
the MP and support her in her quest to bring development to the people.
The member of parliament for Tano South Hon. Hannah Louisa
Bisiw in a speech said her motive of
initiating such projects was to provide basic infrastructure on Education
and Health to meet the needs of the
people. She said she found it expedient to provide classroom blocks to the
Techemantia Presby Primary A because they were studying under trees and the
children of Ada were walking a distance to attend JHS at Ankaase hence the need
to provide them with a JHS.
Hon. Bisiw said it was the wish of the NDC government to do
away with maternal mortality and since some communities were far away from
where hospitals and Health Centres were sited there was the need to bring
health care to the doorstep of the people hence the need to site chip compounds
closer to the people.
Touching on the girl child, Hon. Bisiw adviced the girls to
take their education seriously and learn hard and refrain from immoral
practices that would lead them into teenage pregnancy and called on parent to
take care of their children
Touching on the project at the Presbyterian Senior High
School at Techimantia Hon. Bisiw said she has also provided funds for the
rehabilitation of the buildings in the school apart from the putting up of the
two storey multipurpose administration block and retariated that it was not the
schools PTA project but her own initiative. Hon. Bisiw said theTechimantia slaughter
slab was also in a deplorable state and was not good for use hence her decision
to put up a new one.
Hon. Bisiw in all her speeches in the communities said it
was the people who voted for her to go to parliament and there was therefore
the need for her to also serve the people and lobby for project for them and
promised that plans are afoot to have the Bechem Teachimantia- Akomadam and
Derma-Asuoso roads constructed under the cocoa roads project of the government.
Hon. Bisiw promised the pupils of the Asuboi Junoir High
School that she in no time supply them with
exercise and literature(cock crows) books.
Touching on the supply of electricity to the communities
Hon.Bisiw said she would have wished to get all communities in the constituency
connected to the national grid and called on the communities who are calling
for extension in their towns to wait for a while as that would be taking care of in due course.
Hon. Bisiw called on all the communities benefiting from the
project to cooperate with the various contractors under taking the projects and
give them the necessary support to see to the successful completion of the projects.
Nananom in all the communities where the projects had been
initiated thanked the MP and government of Ghana for coming to their aid in the
field of Education and health.
