ANNUAL INTER – SCHOOLS GAMES COMPETITION HELD IN BECHEM

A three day inter – school games school competition has been held at the Roman Catholic School Park and St Joseph College of Education park at Bechem in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The competition which was organized by the Tano South District Education Service saw pupils from various Basic and Junior High Schools. Schools such as St Vincent Preparatory, Presbyterian Junior High, St Joseph’s Practice Primary, Bechem Islamic Primary, Bechem Nkwanta L/A Primary, Girls Model, High Academy among others participated in rally tug – of – war, soccer, volley, hand ball and table tennis.

Speaking at the function, the Circuit Supervisor Mr. Charles Yendukwah advised parents present to motivate their children who find sports interesting and world want to train to become professional athletics. He said gone were the days when athletics and footballers were seen as drop outs or homeless children who had no basic education and people to motivate them. Mr. Charles Yendukwah therefore called the school children to put much effort in the studies, since not all of them are burn to be athletics.

At the end of the competition some schools were awarded with certificates for best performances. For the Circuit B Competition the overall best soccer team went to Higher Academy and for the Primary School level the overall best soccer team went to the Presbyterian Primary School whiles the Bechem Islamic School won the overall best JHS soccer competition in Circuit A and at the Primary Level Bechem SDA Primary won the overall soccer team. Schools such as St. Vincent, Anglican Primary, Mansin L/A Primary, St Joseph Practice, Brosankro R/C Old Town, Fair Fax Brosankro and New Generation also received awards.
