The Ahafo Newmont Ghana has donated an items worth 15,000 to the Tano South Municipal Assembly to make the said Assembly effectively reward hardworking farmers in the municipality as Ghana celebrates the 36th Farmers' Day.
The items were 1 motor king (small basket), 5 bicycles with basket, 20 wellington boots, 4 boxes of key soap and 85 Newmont branded T-shirts.

Presenting the items, Mr .Steven Petrofes, the project Director of Newmont Ghana said Agriculture contributes to development of Ghana's economy. It was against this background that Newmont has established Agricultural Improvement and Land Access Programme aimed to support farmers found at the Newmont operational areas.
Mr. Steven reiterated that Newmont also collaborates with other Agencies and department to organize training programme for farmers on modern methods of Agricultural practices to enable the farmers acquire knowledge to meet the modern trend of Agriculture.

He assured the general public that Newmont would continue to give support to farmers to ensure they produce more food to feed the Nation
The Municipal Director of Agriculture who received the items on behalf of the Assembly thanked management of Newmont for their kind gesture and also pledged that the items would be given to the deserving farmers.
