A stakeholders'
meeting to outline plans and modalities to implement the President's directives
of combating coronavirus has been held in the aforementioned municipality.

for Tano South Municipality, Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi, the Presiding Member
Hon. Asare Antwi, the
municipal coordinating director, Mr Ayambire Akaditi, DSP James Tei, the Municipal Police Commander, Nananom, Assembly
members, and some Heads of Department.
Addressing
the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive for Tano South, Hon. Collins
Offinam Takyi thanked participants for their prompt response to the meeting and
said following the outbreak of the disease, several engagements have been held
at national and regional levels and it is prudent for the assembly to do same
to combat the disease in the municipality.

Hon.
Takyi stated that, the municipal and public health service has put a number of
measures in-place to manage and prevent the spread of the virus in the
Municipality. He urged members especially the Traditional rulers (Nananom) who
hold much authority to enforce some of the directives of the president to ensure
the disease finds no place in the Municipality.
Hon.
Takyi said, plans have been put in place to sensitize the public on the disease
to ensure the public adhere to the COVID - 19 preventive measures. He advised the social distancing
measures should be strictly adhered to in mass transit system and public
gatherings.
The
Municipal Director of Ghana Health Service, Dr. Pater Asare said the public
health measures to manage suspected cases and identification of isolation
center have been done by the directorate and called all to support the Assembly
to fight against the disease.
He
urged members to adhere to the personal Hygiene etiquettes such as Hand
Washing, using of
alcohol base hand sanitizers, coughing into tissues paper, covering of nose and mouth when sneezing
or coughing among others.

Dr.
Asare said, Government has provided the Health sector with some logistics such
as Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), diagnostic equipment, thermometer,
sample taking devices and medicines.
Nana Fosu Boadi who represented Nana Fosu Gyeabour
Akoto II, Omanhene of Bechem Traditiomal Council said, covid-19 outbreak
could affect anyone irrespective of his
or her ethnicity, colour, religion, age,
political affiliation among others and urged all and sundry to devoid from
discriminating persons affected by coronavirus.
