SOD CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ORPHANAGE HOME, SCHOOL AND CLINIC HELD AT BECHEM



A Sod cutting Ceremony for the construction of an orphanage Home, School and a Clinic has been held at Bechem, the Tano south District Capital.
Rescue Mission, a Ghanaian Non Governmental Organization based in Italy which is the main initiators of the whole project performed the ceremony.
The President of the Mission, District Elder Amoah Da-Costa in a short speech said their vision was to form a charitable organization to help the needy in Africa and planned to visit Ghana to find a suitable place for the Orphanage Home, school and Clinic project. He said Bechem was chosen after a period of search and Nananom did not hesitate in offering a ten (10) acre land for the project.

District Elder Amoah Da-Costa hinted that Rescue Mission in the past has donated an Ambulance and other equipments to the Bechem Government Hospital and that the project they are about to undertake would go a long way to benefit the people of Bechem, the Tano South District and the Brong Ahafo Region as a whole when completed.
The Tano South District chief Executive, Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba also in a speech on behalf of the President of Ghana, the Member of Parliament for the Tano South Constituency and the District Assembly which he is the head welcomed the Rescue Mission Team to the Tano South District.

Hon. Anaba said since Rescue Mission is into social issues, the Tano South District Assembly would do all it takes to help them in their endeavors in the District. He said the Assembly has undertaken events which are related to their plans in the District and with the help of some Departmental Heads they were able to meet some social challenges.
Hon. Anaba said it would gratify Rescue Mission to note what the response would be when they complete their project and promised that the Assembly would partner them in all their efforts.
Hon. Anaba said we should give thanks and commendation to Nananom for offering a ten (10) acre piece of land for the project and again assured Rescue Mission that the Assembly would contribute its quota towards the project.
Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, the Omanhene of Bechem Traditional Area who chaired the function thanked Rescue Mission for coming to the aid of Orphans and seeing the need to provide infrastructural development in the Education and Health Sectors in the Tano South District, specifically Bechem the District Capital.

He said Nananom did not hesitate but saw the need to release the land to Rescue Mission for the project since we are all our brothers’ keeper and any person who cares for the needs of the orphans must be encouraged.
Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, hinted that Rescue Mission has contributed immensely to the community and noted that when the project is completed it would not only benefit the people of Bechem but the Region and Ghana as a whole and was pleased that the District Chief Executive has also promised the Assembly’s readiness to contribute its quota towards the project.
The Rescue Mission Team was made up of District Elder Amoah Da-Costa, the President, Mr. Alex Kofi Asare, the vice President of the Chapter and Mr. Rexford Agyemang who is the secretary.
