A fund
raising ceremony in aid of mobilizing funds to support the activities of the
New Patriotic Party in the Tano South Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region
has been organized at Bechem, the Constituency Headquarters.

Explaining
the rationale behind the fund raising, the Constituency Treasurer of the Party,
Mr. Fred Adu Twum, said it has become necessary for the Constituency branch of
the NPP to reorganize some structures in the party and all these reorganization
entails the use of money, hence the fund raising.
Mr. Adu
Twum said, in –service training, workshops and other structures would be
tackled to put the Constituency branch of the NPP on its feet to meet all
challenges that would be faced during the2016 Presidential and Parliamentary
Election Campaign and Elections.
Speaking
at the function, Mr. Appiah Kubi, a researcher of the Ahafo Ano North Constituency
Branch of the New Patriotic Party, said a lot of factors led the Party into
opposition during the 2012 elections. He mentioned some of the factors as the
inadequate training of the Party’s Polling Agents, failure of some Party faithful
to cast their votes and failure of party agents at polling stations to be
vigilant during the elections and appealed to all concerned to take into
consideration measures that would be adopted to address these problems in the
near future especially during the 2016 elections.
On the
just ended limited voters registration exercise, Mr. Appiah Kubi said party
agents who observed the exercise should gather courage to meet the committee
that would be set up to investigate people whose registration were challenged
to enable the country obtain a clean and credible voter register.
In an
address, Mr. Kofi Poku Buabeng, the Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic
Party, called for clean politics to be exhibited by members of the party. He
added that they should refrain from the politic of insults and let the people
know what the party has done before and what it intends to do.
Mr.
Opoku entreated party faithful to be circumspect in all their dealings so as to
attract other people to the party since the strength of the party in the
Constituency would be based on the number of eligible voters they can attract
to vote during elections and urged all to rally behind the current party
executives to enable them work assiduously to capture back the Constituency
Parliamentary Seat.

In his
remarks, Mr. Antwi Nyarko, who chaired the function entreated the Constituency
Executives of the party to work in unity so as to enable them work as a team to
meet the task ahead of making the party strong and regaining the seat they lost
in the 2012 elections and urged the party members to give their maximum support
to the executives to enable them work diligently.
