The Tano
South District Chief Executive, Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba in the company of the
Tano South District Director of Education and officials of both the Tano South
District Assembly and the Education Directorate visited various examination
centres in the district during the 2014 Basic Education Certificate Examination
to have a clear view of how the examination is been conducted and have
interactions with both the pupils and their invigilators.

During
his rounds, the District Chief Executive was informed that the Tano South
District registered one thousand four hundred (1400) pupils for the examination
out of which seven hundred and sixty five (765) were males and the rest females.
He was further informed that out of the total number who registered two failed to
show up to write the examination as two female pupils were also seen pregnant
writing the examinations.
In all
his rounds, Hon. Anaba advised the pupils to work hard in the course of writing
the examinations to enable them pass the examination well. He advised the
pupils to write their index numbers first as soon as they receive the answer
sheet in all the examinations since that would enable the examination authorities
identify who the candidate is, and entreated them not to enter the examination
hall with any foreign material apart from those approved by the authorities.

The
District Chief Executive told the pupils to put away any form of fear or
examination fever but master courage to meet the examination since God is on
their side, he said by so doing and working hard to pass the exams well the
image of the Tano South District would be raised whilst educational standards in
the District would also improve.

Anaba assured the pupils that the Tano South Assembly is always ready to award
scholarships to best performing pupils in the examination to pursue further
education in the Senior High School.

South District Director of Education Mrs. Mary Grace Bonye on her part during
the visit commended the pupils in all the centres for the well behaved manner
they have conducted themselves and advised them to work hard and come out with
flying colours.
The Tano
South District Chief Executive in another development used the visits to also
inspect some ongoing educational projects currently been undertaking in some of
the educational institutions in the District
including the four (4) storey community senior high school building
project, the ICT centre at Derma and also took time to inspect the Derma-Ada
road.
