PRESIDENT MILLS DONATES FOOD ITEMS TO MOSLEM COMMUNITY IN THE TANO SOUTH DISTRICT

On behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana the Tano South District Chief Executive Hon. Bukari Zakari Anaba has donated food items comprising thirty-one (31) bags of Rice and Five (5) Cartons of Frytol Cooking Oil to the Moslems Community in the Tano South District to celebrate this year’s Eid-UL-Fitr.


Presenting the items at a solemn but colourful ceremony at Bechem after he had joined his Moslem counter parts in prayer to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting, the District Chief Executive said he brings to them the good wishes of the President in their celebration of the Eid- UL-Fitr.

He said the items donated were to be distributed to the needy, widows, orphans and the old age within the Muslim Community to enable them also celebrate the day. The District Chief Executive mentioned that it has been brought to the attention of the President that some people were raising concerns that the president was moving the country in a slow pace to which he said the president wishes to state that governing a country was not a matter of speeding up and that the president said he knew what he was about. He therefore assured the people that the end would justify his efforts so he must be given time and peace to execute his plans successfully.

The Chief Imam of the Tano South District Ibrahim Gariba who received the items on behalf of the Moslem Community thanked President Mills for his kind gesture and assured the items would be distributed according to the purpose for which it was donated. The Chief Imam said Muslims have not ceased in praying for the nation and its leaders. He thus commended the President for showing his concern to the Muslim community especially the indigent in the district.

The Chief Imam called on Ghanaians irrespective of their political differences to rally behind the ruling government in order for them to make life in the country worth living in. He said Ghanaian should unite to put the interest of the country first and should not allow our personal interest overshadow that of the country. Imam Gariba also charged the District Chief Executive to extend the best wishes of the Muslim Community in the Tano South District to the President.
