TANO SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY TO CONSTRUCT CLASSROOM BLOCKS FOR TWO DEPRIVED SCHOOLS

Work on the Construction of Classroom blocks for two deprived primary schools in the Tano South District is to begin soon. The project which comprises of a six(6) unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the Islamic Primary School at Bechem at a cost of GH¢144,924.43 and the Local Authority Primary School at Tuagyankrom at a cost of GH¢145,948.55 is scheduled to be completed in eight months.

Speaking at the handing over of the project documents to the two project contractors of Messrs MAGGEI CO. LTD and KISBAN LTD at the project sites at Bechem and Tuagyankrom respectively, the Tano South District Chief Executive said that the execution of the project has been necessitated due to the fact that pupils of the two schools have for far too long suffered having classes under trees and hoped the project when completed would go a long way to enhance quality learning by pupils in the two beneficiary schools.

Hon. Zakari Anaba said education which is the bedrock of every development cannot be overruled when children are left to suffer the fate of learning under trees and it is in this vain that the Tano South District Assembly has deemed it fit to put up a permanent structure for the two beneficiary schools to house the children who are our future leaders.

Hon. Anaba entreated the contractors to use the best of materials at their disposal for the project since any shoddy work would not be in the interest of the Assembly and the beneficiary community and again entreated the contractors to execute the project on schedule and also employ some of its labour force from the beneficiary communities.

A project consultant of Procurement & Project Management Consultancy Firm who handed over the project drawings to the contractors urged the contractors to go strictly by the project drawings and specifications and ensure that the best materials are used for the project and also entreated the beneficiary communities to take proper care of the project when completed.

TANO SOUTH DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE PRAYS WITH MOSLEM COMMUNITY

The Tano South District Chief Executive Honorable Bukari Zakari Anaba on behalf of the president of Ghana, have donated Four Hundred pieces of mats worth GH¢3,600 to the Tano South Moslem Community, to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-fitr. Presenting the items at a short but impressive ceremony at Bechem, after he had joined his Moslem counterparts in prayers to mark the celebration, the District Chief Executive said he brings to them the good wishes of the President in their celebration of the Ramadan.

Mr. Bukari Zakari Anaba emphasized that the donated mats should be distributed according to the purpose of donation to the Moslem Community to enable them to celebrate the day. He used the occasion to promise government’s assistance to construct a six unit classroom block for the Bechem Islamic Basic School. This he said is the initiative of the government of Ghana and Tano South District Assembly to help upgrade education in the Islamic Communities. Honorable Bukari Zakari Anaba advised the Moslem youth to desist from immoral acts which would corrupt their image and the Moslem community at large.

Receiving the items, the District Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Gariba thanked President Mills for the kind gesture and assured that the mats would be distributed according to the purpose for which it was donated.

The Chief Imam assured that the Moslem community in the district would continue to pray for Ghana to move the country forward. He commended the President for showing his concern to the Moslem community and therefore called for more of such donations.
