PRESEDENTS OF THE REPUBLIC CUTS SOD FOR BECHEM-TECHIMANTIA –AKOMADAN ROAD

 

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has paid working visit to the Tano South Municipality to interact with the chiefs and people of Techimantia.

Inspecting projects in the said community, the President of the Republic cut sod to commence constructions work on Bechem-Techimantia-Akomadan road.

According to him, since Ahafo Region produces more foodstuffs to feed the nation, there is the need for him to tarre the said road to boost businesses in the Municipality and the country as a whole.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo assured the chiefs that he and his government would do all it takes to ensure peace prevails before, during and after the 2020 general elections and urged the teaming youth not to also allowed themselves to engage in election violence by politicians but rather the youth should consider the massive achievements of the NPP government and vote to return the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party to power.

The Minister of roads and highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta indicated that Bechem-Techimantia-Akomadan road is seen as one of the major roads which link Bono East Region and Ashanti Region and hinted that the road when completed would address the road network issues confronting the Municipality.

Hon Amoako Atta said 40.4mk road awarded on contract by government would be completed in the next 24 months and however said the project would cost 50million Euros.

He further stressed that the road project would provide direct and indirect jobs to the residents in the Municipality and urged the residents to cooperate with the contractor to enable the contractor completes the project on time to make it serves its intended purposes.

Nana Ampong Kromantang who welcomed president and his entourage said the residents of the Techimantia have admired the performance of the NPP governments under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo especially the free SHS Policy.

He used the occasion to inform President to provide teachers’ bungalow, pick up, boys’ dormitory and bus for the Samuel Oto SHS to enable management of the school to effectively run the school.

TANO SOUTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS ASSEMBLY MEETING AT BECHEM

 

The First Ordinary meeting of the First Session of the Tano South Municipal Assembly has been held at Bechem, the Municipal capital in the Ahafo Region.

The meeting which took place at the St. Joseph’s College of Education Conference Hall saw in attendance the MCE for Tano South,Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi,  Mr Asare Antwi,  the Presiding Member of the Assembly,  Mr. Akaditi Ayambire, Municipal Coordinating Director, Nananom and  Heads of various  Departments and Agencies

In his welcome address, Mr. Asare Antwi, the Presiding Member of the Assembly thanked members for honoring the invitation and said the meeting was to reflect on the development needs and aspirations of the people in Mucipality. He educated the assembly members on the work of the public relations and complains committee (PRCC) of the Assembly and encouraged them to educate their electorates to report grievances to the committee. He also entreated the house to come out with innovative ways to help the assembly mobilize revenue for the implementation of programs and projects.

Mr. Asare commended the house for the confidence reposed in him and urged them to come together as one people with one common destiny to work to ensure Assembly achieves its goals.

He entreated all members to contribute their parts to ensure the success of the meeting.  

 The Municipal Chief Executive for Tano South, Mr Collins Offinam Takyi in his sessional address congratulated all members of the house especially the newly elected Assembly Members and urged them to bring their expertise to make the Assembly embarks on massive development projects in the Municipality. On human resource, he said the Assembly had 175 permanent staff and 38 temporal staff. On Finance, he said the assembly faces problem with funds, especially IGF and hinted that the said funds delay the execution of development’s projects in the Municipality.

 Speaking on Justice and Security, he indicated that the Assembly has made progress in terms of the execution of the projects and informed the house to support the Assembly to establish Municipal Divisional Command of Ghana Police Service and Immigration Service.

 On education, Mr Takyi outlined the benefits the Municipality has enjoyed from the implementation of the Free SHS policy including the areas Health, Agriculture and among others. 

On the executive committee report of the Assembly, he said the Assembly would form task force to assist revenue collectors to mobilize more revenue for the Assembly. This he said would go a long way to make the Assembly executes more developmental projects to improve the living standards of the people.
